Here is the latest update on the issue with zzusis links.
We held another conference call with Oracle from 2-3 today to discuss the current issue with the error end users are experiencing when they attempt to access external links within zzusis. This issue is occurring when the end user is using a connection from outside of the Pullman network.
Oracle presented us a PeopleTools patch as a possible solution to the external links error and we had that patch installed into one of our zzusis development environments last night. The Enterprise Systems tech team has been testing that portal development environment this morning and early afternoon to check if the proposed fix resolved the external links error. Our initial testing of the patch is looking promising.
However, to complete the full range of testing and confirm the patch resolves the issue within zzusis, we will need to install the patch into our portal test environment next. We are now working with Oracle to schedule this patch and have it installed into our portal test environment hopefully within the next 24-36 hours. Once installed, we will begin our testing to confirm the issue is resolved and once we can confirm the patch, we will again work with Oracle to schedule the patch into the zzusis portal. If all goes well, we will attempt to get the patch installed into the zzusis portal this weekend.
In the meantime, the work around is to have end users navigate to the WSU home page and use the search WSU button to find the page they are trying to access from within the portal. Also, end users can use the VPN connection back to the Pullman campus to access zzusis. The entire Enterprise Systems team appreciates your patience and understanding as we work with Oracle to implement and test the patch to resolve the connection errors occurring after the PeopleTools upgrade within zzusis.
